전북대학교는 글로컬대학30 사업의 핵심 추진 과제인 ‘JUIC Triangle’ 사업의 일환으로 ‘동물용의약품 생산밸리 조성사업’ 3차년도 비교과 과정을 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다.

지난 5월 8일 시작된 이번 프로그램은 11월 24일까지 총 7개 과정으로 구성돼 진행된다. 펫‧바이오 및 동물의약품 산업 현장에서 요구되는 실무 중심의 역량 강화를 목표로, 전북대와 협력 연구기관의 교수진이 직접 참여해 교육의 전문성과 현장성을 높이고 있다.

전북대는 이번 비교과 과정을 통해 지역 산업체 및 연구기관과 연계한 현장 맞춤형 전문 인재를 양성하고, 동물용의약품 생산밸리의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 지속 가능한 인재 생태계를 구축할 계획이다.

박철 교수(수의과대학)는 “이번 비교과 과정은 대학이 지역 산업의 성장축으로 자리잡기 위한 실질적 협력의 일환”이라며 “학생들이 최신 기술과 산업 트렌드를 접하며 현장 실무 역량을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

이정환 지역혁신센터 센터장은 “전북특별자치도가 중점적으로 추진하는 동물용의약품 산업 분야에서, 이번 과정을 통해 실무형 전문 인력 양성이 가능해졌다”며 “지속적인 비교과 프로그램 운영으로 지역 산업 발전에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 전북대는 글로컬대학30 사업을 기반으로 익산·정읍 지역의 펫‧바이오 및 동물의약품 산업 클러스터를 육성하고 있으며, 산학연 협력을 통해 지역경제 활성화와 미래 성장 동력 확보에 나서고 있다.


JBNU Launches Extracurricular Program for Animal Pharmaceutical Production Valley



Jeonbuk National University announced that, as part of the "JUIC Triangle" initiative—a key project under the Glocal University 30 program—it will fully implement the third-year extracurricular project for the "Animal Pharmaceuticals Production Valley Project."

The program, which began on May 8, will run through November 24 and consists of seven courses. Designed to strengthen practical skills required in the pet, bio, and animal pharmaceutical industries, faculty from Jeonbuk National University and partner research institutes directly participate to enhance both the expertise and field relevance of the training.

Through this extracurricular project, Jeonbuk National University aims to cultivate field-ready professionals in collaboration with local industries and research institutes, while establishing a sustainable talent ecosystem to bolster the competitiveness of the Animal Pharmaceuticals Production Valley.

Professor Cheol Park of the College of Veterinary Medicine said, "This extracurricular project represents a practical collaboration for the university to become a growth engine in the regional industry. We will actively support students to gain hands-on experience and industry insights, helping them grow into skilled professionals."

Lee Jung-hwan, Director of the Regional Innovation Center, added, "In Jeollabuk-do’s prioritized animal pharmaceuticals sector, this program enables the training of practical professionals. Continuous operation of such extracurricular programs will contribute to the growth of the local industry."

Meanwhile, Jeonbuk National University is fostering a pet, bio, and animal pharmaceutical industry cluster in Iksan and Jeongeup, leveraging industry-academia-research cooperation to stimulate the regional economy and secure future growth engines.
