My name is Dildora Umarova, and I am from Uzbekistan. I am currently pursuing my doctoral studies at JBNU in the field of English Literature. My research focuses on British and American drama. I previously completed my Master’s degree in English Literature, with a specialization in 20th-century American literature.
Durdona Jurakuzieva
My name is Durdona Jurakuzieva, and I am doing an integrated course of master’s and PhD in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. My academic interests include English language teaching and second language acquisition. I am particularly interested in integrating artificial intelligence into teaching English skills and examining its effects on student learning. My current research explores how storyboarding in reading with GenAI multimodal composition can support learners’ reading comprehension.
Gulfiya Atasheva
My name is Gulfiya Atasheva, and I am a PhD student in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. I studied linguistics and education to better understand how language works and how it is acquired. My research interests include linguistics, language teaching, and education. Currently I am in my final semester, and my thesis focuses on language teaching and educational approaches, aiming to explore effective ways to teach languages and improve learning outcomes.
Hoang Quang Huy
My name is Hoang Quang Huy, and I am a PhD student in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. My research interests lie in phonology, particularly within the framework of Optimality Theory. I have conducted research on English loanwords in Vietnamese and on consonant patterns in the Southern Vietnamese dialect. My future research aims to further explore phonological phenomena in Vietnamese, English, and Korean.
Ulkar Mammadli
My name is Ulkar Mammadli, I’m from Azerbaijan. I hold a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Philosophy, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in English Literature at Jeonbuk National University. My academic interests lie in critical theory and its application to literary studies. My philosophical background informs my approach to literature, allowing me to analyze novels through interdisciplinary and theoretical perspectives. My current research focuses on a comparative study of American and Korean novels.

I am Umida Khasanova from English language and literature department.This is my first year in JBNU therefore I am trying to get familiar myself with studying atmosphere and professors for the first semester. I am interested in both linguistics and literature. After some period ,I will decide what to do with the thesis . Having 3 years break in my academic life, I decided to concentrate on revising and acquiring knowledge.

My name is Kyungso Kim, currently studying for a Master's degree in Linguistics, particularly interested in syntax, semantics, and the syntax–semantics interface, with a peripheral interest in philosophy, especially formal logic and the philosophy of language. My research focuses on Korean, English, and other languages such as Uzbek, from a comparative perspective, especially in terms of syntax and semantics. I am particularly interested in areas such as causative alternation, tense, agreement, and binding. Currently, I am working on my Master’s thesis on Sequence of Time, analyzing its use in Korean through a formal approach. My ultimate goal, which my research interests reflect, is to present a precise and formal description of language in order to establish clear and well-defined boundaries.

My name is Jarilkaganov Ajiniyaz Kuanishbay uli, a graduate student in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. I am from Karakalpakstan, an autonomous republic in Uzbekistan. My academic interests include English poetry, modern literature, and literary analysis. Under the guidance of Professor Ungyung Yi, I am exploring poetic studies. I am particularly interested in how poetry draws attention to small, everyday objects and reveals deeper meanings through them.

Letícia Inácio Leite
Letícia Inácio Leite is a Brazilian master’s student in English Literature at Jeonbuk National University and a recipient of the Global Korea Scholarship. Her research interests include Shakespeare studies, postcolonial literature, and elegiac poetry. Her current dissertation examines feminist revisions of female characters in modern adaptations of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, analyzing how contemporary reinterpretations reshape gender dynamics and reclaim women’s agency.

My name is Ifty Atia Prodan, and I am a master's student from Bangladesh in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. My research interests focus on novels, particularly themes of masculinity, power, and vulnerability in contemporary literature. I am especially interested in exploring these themes in the works of Abdulrazak Gurnah and plan to develop my thesis on this topic.

Since I am interested in language education, currently pursuing the Education track of the faculty. My name is Sharifjon Azamjonov, a graduate student in the Department of English Language and Literature at Jeonbuk National University. My research interests are second language acquisition and vocabulary learning. My current research examines the relationship between vocabulary size, vocabulary depth, and listening and reading comprehension among Uzbek EFL students, focusing on how vocabulary knowledge supports language proficiency and comprehension.

I am Sitorabonu Pardaeva, a graduate student from Uzbekistan. My research interests include second language acquisition, particularly the use of GenAI-integrated digital multimodal compositions in ELT. I plan to explore digital storytelling in EFL writing, with a focus on metacognition. Specifically, I want to examine how learners’ metacognitive awareness during GenAI-supported storytelling relates to prompt iteration and influences writing performance and their digital products. Through this research, I want to better understand how GMC-assisted learning environments support students’ performance and reflective learning processes.
Sultamuratova Nigora Nurjanovna (석사졸업)
I am Sultamuratova Nigora Nurjanovna from Uzbekistan, and I recently graduated from the M.A. program in the English Language and Literature Department in February 2026. My research interests include modern tragedy and contemporary British drama. My master’s thesis examined Effie in Iphigenia in Splott as a precarious tragic heroine, exploring how the play reinterprets classical tragic structures in a modern social context and reflects contemporary social issues.
