전북대학교 양오봉 총장이 연휴 기간이었던 지난 10월 1일부터 9일까지 중앙아시아 3개국(우즈베키스탄, 타지키스탄, 카자흐스탄)을 방문해 주요 대학들과 국제협력 기반을 강화했다.양 총장은 TIFT(타슈켄트국제금융기술대학), 기묘국제대학, 우즈베키스탄 국립외국어대학, 타직국립사범대학, 카자흐스탄 국립농업대학, 카자흐스탄 국립대학, 카자흐 아블라이칸 대학 등 7개 명문 대학을 차례로 방문해 MOU를 체결하고, 협력 방안을 논의했다.첫 방문지인 TIFT에서는 학생 교환, 대학원 진학, 공동 학위과정 등 실질적인 협력 방안을 협의했다. 또한, ‘전북대–TIFT 국제센터 개소식’을 열고, 현지 학생들을 대상으로 한국어 및 한국문화를 소개하며, 한국유학을 희망하는 학생을 위한 입시설명회를 정례화하기로 했다.이어 기묘국제대학 및 우즈베키스탄 국립외국어대학과도 협약 체결을 통해 학생 및 연구 교류, 우수유학생 전북대 대학원 입학 등을 실시하기로 뜻을 모았다.타직국립사범대학 방문에서는 ‘전북대–타직국립사범대학’ 국제센터와 JBNU 한국어센터 개소식 및 MOU 체결식이 진행됐다. 이 대학과는 지난 2015년부터 교류를 이어오며 지금까지 25명의 교환학생이 전북대를 방문했다. 협약을 통해 내년부터는 매년 20명 이상이 전북대에서 수학할 수 있는 제도적 기반이 마련됐다.또한 새로 문을 연 국제센터와 JBNU한국어센터는 한국어교육과 한국문화 소개를 통해 양국 학생간 교류의 폭을 넓히는 핵심 거점으로 기능할 예정이다. 이날 개소식에서는 주타지키스탄대한민국대사관 전성식 대사의 축사가 더해져 협력의 의미를 높였다.특히 이날 양오봉 총장은 타지키스탄 교육부 및 타직국립사범대학으로부터 명예박사 학위를 받았다. 타지키스탄 정부는 이번 국제센터 개소와 양교 간 협력이 양국 고등교육 발전에 있어 중요한 전환점이 될 것이라며 높은 평가를 내렸다.이어 카자흐스탄에서도 주요 대학들과 교환학생 프로그램 강화, 공동 연구, 국제협력 프로그램 공동기획 등 실질적인 협력 방안을 논의했으며, 특히 2+2 학위제, 썸머, 윈터스쿨 운영, 석·박사 공동지도제 도입 등을 통해 협력의 질을 한층 높이기로 했다.전북대는 이번 중앙아시아 대학들과의 협력을 계기로 외국인 유학생 유치 확대에 박차를 가할 계획이다. 이는 글로컬대학30 사업의 핵심 목표 중 하나인 외국인 유학생 5,000명 유치 달성을 위한 전략의 일환으로, 중앙아시아 우수 인재를 적극적 유치해 대학의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하겠다는 구상이다.양오봉 총장은 “이번 중앙아시아 방문은 전북대가 세계 무대에서 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 전략적 협력의 출발점”이라며 “우수한 인재를 유치하고 공동연구와 학문 교류를 확대해 글로벌 명문대학으로 도약하겠다”고 밝혔다.JBNU Strengthens Partnerships with Leading Universities in Three Central Asian CountriesJeonbuk National University (JBNU) President Oh Yang-bong visited three Central Asian countries—Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan—from October 1 to 9, during the national holiday period, to strengthen the university’s international cooperation network with major universities in the region.During the visit, President Oh signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and discussed collaboration plans with seven prestigious institutions, including Tashkent International University of Finance and Technology (TIFT), Qimyok International University, Uzbek State University of World Languages, Tajik State Pedagogical University, Kazakh National Agrarian University, Kazakh National University, and Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.At his first stop, TIFT, the delegation discussed practical cooperation measures such as student exchange, graduate school admissions, and joint degree programs. JBNU also held an opening ceremony for the JBNU–TIFT International Center, where it introduced Korean language and culture to local students and agreed to regularize admission briefings for those interested in studying in Korea.JBNU further expanded its partnerships by signing agreements with Qimyok International University and the Uzbek State University of World Languages, committing to student and research exchanges and the admission of outstanding international students to JBNU’s graduate programs.At Tajik State Pedagogical University, JBNU celebrated the opening of the JBNU–TSPU International Center and the JBNU Korean Language Center, along with an MOU signing ceremony. Since establishing ties in 2015, 25 exchange students from TSPU have studied at JBNU, and the new agreement will allow more than 20 students per year to study at JBNU starting next year.The newly established International Center and JBNU Korean Language Center will serve as key hubs for expanding academic and cultural exchanges between students of both nations through Korean language education and cultural programs. The opening ceremony also featured congratulatory remarks from Ambassador Jeon Seong-sik of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tajikistan, underscoring the importance of this partnership.In recognition of his contributions to educational exchange, President Oh received an honorary doctorate from both the Tajik Ministry of Education and Tajik State Pedagogical University. The Tajik government commended the establishment of the international centers and the partnership between the two universities as a significant milestone in advancing higher education cooperation between the two countries.In Kazakhstan, JBNU held meetings with major universities to discuss strengthening student exchange programs, joint research, and international cooperation projects. Both sides agreed to enhance the quality of collaboration through initiatives such as 2+2 dual-degree programs, summer and winter schools, and joint supervision for master’s and doctoral students.Building on these partnerships, JBNU plans to accelerate the recruitment of international students from Central Asia as part of its Glocal University 30 initiative, which aims to attract 5,000 international students. This effort reflects JBNU’s strategy to enhance global competitiveness by attracting talented students from Central Asia.President Oh stated,“This visit to Central Asia marks the starting point of JBNU’s strategic efforts to enhance its competitiveness on the global stage. 전북대학교와 한국과학기술연구원(원장 오상록·이하 KIST)이 국립대 최초로 도입한 학연교수제를 통해 설립된 JBNU-KIST 산학연융합학과(학과장 이승희 교수)가 지역 강소기업인 에너에버배터리솔루션(주)(대표 신상기)과 손잡고 산학 연계형 교육 프로그램을 본격 시행한다. 전북대 JBNU-KIST 산학연융합학과는 과학기술정보통신부의 ‘학·연 협력 플랫폼 구축 시범사업’과 정부가 추진하는 대학-출연연 장벽 허물기 정책의 일환으로, 기업과 연계한 현장 중심 교육을 실시해왔다. 지난해 12월 비나텍(주)과 협약을 맺고 학생들의 기업체 현장실습과 취업 연계를 추진해 온 데 이어, 올해는 에너에버배터리솔루션(주)을 새로운 참여 기업으로 맞이했다.이번 협력은 ‘전북형 워털루 코업(Co-Operative Education) 프로그램’의 일환이다. 이 프로그램은 캐나다 워털루 대학의 실무인재 양성 프로그램을 지역 실정에 맞게 재설계한 현장 실습 지원 사업으로 학기 중엔 대학에서 이론수업을, 방학 중엔 기업에서 현장실습에 참여하며 전공 지식과 실무 역량을 동시에 키우는 실무형 인재양성 프로그램이다. 이를 통해 학생들은 전공지식과 실무 능력을 동시에 강화할 수 있다.에너에버배터리솔루션(주)은 이차전지 분리막 코팅기술과 우수한 설비를 기반으로 배터리 핵심 소재 및 부품을 생산하는 전북 대표기업이다. 전북대는 대학원생들에게 현장실습과 취업 기회를 제공하고, 기업은 학생들의 신기술 습득과 실무 역량 강화를 지원한다. 이 프로그램의 성공적 운영을 위해 JBNU-KIST 산학연융합학과와 에너에버배터리솔루션(주)은 최근 업무 협약을 체결했다.이 프로그램을 주도하고 있는 이승희 교수(고분자·나노공학과)는 “이번 프로그램은 과학기술정보통신부가 추진하는 대학-출연연 간 장벽 허물기 정책의 중요한 트랙으로, 2024년도에 이어 올해에도 학연교수를 통해 양성된 맞춤형 인재들이 지역 기업으로 유입될 수 있는 기반을 제공할 것”이라며 “이를 통해 산학연 협력의 모범 사례가 계속 이어지게 될 뿐만 아니라, 대학원생들의 취업률 향상에도 크게 이바지할 것으로 기대한다”라고 밝혔다. 한편, 이 프로그램에 참여를 희망하는 대학원생은 JBNU-KIST 산학연융합학과 메일(jbnukist@jbnu.ac.kr)을 통해 문의 및 지원하면 된다.JBNU–KIST Strengthen Industry Collaboration with Local Innovative CompanyJeonbuk National University (JBNU) and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), through the JBNU–KIST Convergence Department — established under the nation’s first Academic–Research Professor System — have launched a new industry-linked education program in collaboration with EnerEVER Battery Solution Co., Ltd., a leading local battery technology company.The JBNU–KIST Convergence Department has been carrying out field-oriented education programs as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Pilot Project for Building Academic–Research Collaboration Platforms, which supports policies to bridge the gap between universities and national research institutes. Following an agreement with Vinatech Co., Ltd. in December last year, the department has now welcomed EnerEVER Battery Solution as a new partner company in 2025.This collaboration is part of the “Jeonbuk-Style Waterloo Co-Operative Education Program,” a local adaptation of the University of Waterloo’s world-renowned co-op education model. The program enables students to take theoretical courses during the semester and participate in hands-on internships during vacation periods, allowing them to strengthen both academic knowledge and practical skills.EnerEVER Battery Solution Co., Ltd. is recognized for its advanced coating technology for secondary battery separators and high-quality production facilities, serving as one of Jeonbuk’s representative battery materials companies.
