Fuel cells and energy materials laboratory is engaged in the design and development of more efficient and low cost materials for energy conversion and storage applications, such as solid oxide fuel cells, lithium ion batteries, ion transport membranes, and electrochromic devices. Our research covers a broad range of activities including design of advanced materials and development of novel fabrication processing, advanced materials characterization, and a fundamental understanding of the structure-property-performance relationships of materials. Some of the current research activities are briefly outlined below.
