Department of Microbiology

The Microbiology Laboratory is located in the Life Sciences Building of the College of Medicine. It employs four professors and one teaching assistant. The professors conduct independent research. The laboratory focuses on microbial disease pathogenesis, host defense against infectious agents, stem cell biology, and gene therapy. In addition to conducting research, the professors also provide instruction to students in their respective medical school and graduate school curricula.
